Week 3
Connecting + converting with automated emails
Last week, we discussed lead magnets to help your ICs experience wins with you and to help build your email/SMS lists.
This week, let’s talk about how you introduce yourself via an automated series of “welcome” emails and meet your audience where they are with triggered messages.
Key Concepts
Automation
Welcome series
Drip campaigns
Automated emails …
… are messages that are automatically triggered to go out to ICs when they take a specific action, like:
subscribing
registering
adding something to their e-commerce cart (but abandoning it)
Automated emails meet your ICs “where they are” in the customer journey by delivering key information and/or incentives that will help them move forward.
The great thing about automated emails is that you can “set and forget” them.

Week 3 Homework
Make a list of the automated emails you’d like to include in your customer journey, and write content for at least 1 of the messages (including a call-to-action).
Automated emails
You may choose to send a series of emails over time to your audience so they get information at the right time. These are sometimes called “drip campaigns” or “flows.” Drip campaigns are helpful after someone takes an action, like: Joins your list; subscribes to your blog; downloads a lead magnet; attends a free event with you.
